SCI to launch 'Tunis Sports City' in Dubai

Sports Cities International (SCI), a partner of the UAE’s Bukhatir Group, is scheduled to launch its state-of-the-art mixed-use development—located in the heart of the Tunisian capital—on July 22 in Dubai.

To be built on a 256-hectare site, the 6.5 billion dinar (AED 17.9 billion) Tunis Sports City is the product of a partnership between the UAE’s Bukhatir Group and the Tunisian government and was designed by famed Swiss golf course architect Peter Harradine.

A statement from SCI suggests, “Tunis Sports City will offer an ideal setting that innovatively combines sports, tourism, commerce and residences while promoting an environment that is healthy, serene and safe.”

The Sports City project is distinguished by its thoughful design and its attempt to integrate athletics into the larger urban fabric of the growing Tunisian capital.

According to the Bukhatir website, “one of the major pillars on which the success of the Group rests is technology.” As such, the development will see an inventive master plan that will incorporate a residential district with an 18-hole golf course, 49 luxury mansions, two residential towns, 10 high-rise buildings, nine sports academies, a 10,000-seat outdoor stadium, a 5,000-seat indoor stadium and several Olympic-sized swimming pools.

Paul Crosetta, CEO of Sports City International, will be in Dubai on July 22nd to officially launch the project in the UAE.
