During a press conference held in Gammarth on Thursday, Mr Abderrahmane Boukhatir, the CEO of the Emirati "Boukhatir Holding", presented the Tunisian- Emirati mega-project dubbed "Tunis Sport City" to a number of journalists and personalities who were briefed on the different aspects of the project which is due to be completed within a few years.
The project will comprise two distinct phases, the first phase will consist of the building of residential district dubbed 'Cedar' adjacent to an 18 hole golf course and , composed of 49 mansions, two residential villages and ten high rise buildings.
In relation to the first part of the project, the group has signed agreements with Tunisian banks who will provide loan facilities to the Tunisian future owners of these residential units. Agreements were signed respectively with BIAT, ATB, BH, and Attijari Bank.
The second phase will hinge around the realization of a sports complex which will host sports clinics, a 10, 000 seats sports stadium, a 5,000 seats indoor stadium, Olympic swimming pools, gymnasiums, as well as different sport academies.
Mr Bukhatir also emphasized the partnership agreements set up between the group and the "Olympique de Marseilles", which will contribute to setting up a dynamic football stadium and its ancillary facilities.
Another partnership agreement which attracted the attention of the journalists present, is that signed between the Emirati holding and the world renowned PGA, or Professional Golf Association, which is due to take part in the design of the "Tunis Garden Golf".

Moreover, the " World Hockey Academy ", has opted for " Tunis Sports City " to set up its North African Academy, the first of its kind in the region.
